Philip J. McGann, M.D.
Maryland Eye Doctor
Dr. Philip McGann received his Earned Doctorate of Medicine Degree from the University of The State of New York in 1983. His residency was done at St. Clare’s Hospital and Downstate Medical Center. He was also a Retina-Vitreous fellow at Downstate Medical Center. He began his practice in the fall of 1983 in a small row house on 3rd Street in historical downtown Frederick, MD.
In 1989 his practice had outgrown the small 2 room row house and he moved into a space large enough to accommodate the growth. During this time Dr. McGann realized he could serve his patients better by opening his own surgical center. Western Maryland Eye Surgical Center was opened in 1993, where he has been performing cataract and other ocular surgeries since.
The Western Maryland Eye Surgical Center is a state licensed and AAAHC (Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care) certified.
